Is it possible to keep a redtail catfish that is a foot long in a 1000 gallon pond.?

| Blog | May 4, 2011

So i have a over-growing redtail that i want to put in a pond. After the pond was built, some problems arose. I don’t have a filter and the temperature in Arizona varies from 50-110 degrees. So those are my two problems. Is it possible to keep a redtail catfish in a 1000 gallon pond and how?

KOI CARP – care in pond winter conditions?

| Blog | April 20, 2011

we have 2 koi carp and 1 seems to be fine but the other ‘doesnt seem himself’… its been icey and snowy here (england) and weve taken him out the pond and into the shed in a metal tub of water with blankets around the tub and sheets of wood over the tub to give shelter incase it gets to ice conditions again that bad if it ices over abit in the shed.

can anybody help? it would be a major shame to lose him this winter and we just want to know any special care koi carp need in the ice/snow to make sure they make it to spring! the goldfish are fine its just the koi’s

thanks
what actually happened was all the goldfish and 2 koi’s were at the bottom, in the warmer water away from the ice, and he was the only one to come up to the top, but he must of been in shock or something cause he couldnt/wouldnt go back down, so we took him out, suggestions? keep him out till spring? take the other out too? but him back in now? wait till the snows gone (few weeks hopefully)?

Show Guppies are a FRESH WATER TROPICAL FISH. They only differ from regular guppies by being more colorful, beautiful, larger, more healthy and with more elaborate fin structures and cosmetic traits — due to the careful intervention of humans. No chemicals or other harmful elements are used in producing show guppies. (Poecilia reticulata), also known as the millionfish, is one of the most popular freshwater aquarium fish species in the world. It is a small member of the Poeciliidae family (females 46 centimeters (1.62.4 in) long, males 2.53.5 centimeters (1.01.4 in) long) and like all other members of the family, is live-bearing. Guppies are native to Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Brazil, East Timor, Guyana, Mayotte, Netherlands Antilles, Trinidad and Tobago, the US Virgin Islands, Venezuela, and Vietnam. However, guppies have been introduced to many different countries on all continents, except Antarctica. Sometimes this has occurred accidentally, but most often as a means of mosquito control, the hope being that the guppies would eat the mosquito larvae slowing down the spread of malaria. Velvet Red Swordtails are TROPICAL FRESH WATER FISH (Xiphophorus hellerii in family Poeciliidae of order Cyprinodontiformes). A live-bearer, it is closely related to the southern platyfish or “platy” (X. maculatus) and can interbreed with it. It is native to an area of North and Central America stretching from Veracruz, Mexico, to northwestern Honduras. Goldfish (Pond Size) Goldfish
