What fishing reel would you recommend?

| Blog | May 15, 2011

What fishing reel would you recommend?
I’m looking for a very lightweight coarse fishing reel up to a price of about £40. The reel is going to used on my fly rod for regular waggler fishing for things like roach, rudd and perch and maybe the odd carp (don’t ant a centerpin reel) so far i think i am going to buy ABU GARCIA CARDINAL 100Ui i want it to be really lightweight

How long would it take a bristle nose catfish to fully grow?

| Blog | May 4, 2011

I bought a bristle nose catfish today to add into my 15 gallon community tank, and so far it’s only about 2-3cm, so no larger than an inch. Given a varied diet of peas, cucumbers, catfish pellets, bloodworms and maybe zucchinis/courgettes, how long should it take to become fully grown?

I heard they get up to 10cm (about 4inches). Is this true?

Thanks :)

Do you live in the Glen Affric or Fort William area of Scotland? if you do i would like to speak to you!?

| Blog | April 16, 2011

In march 2011 i am going to be backpacking from Chatham, kent to the highlands of Scotland and living and moving around in the wild for about 5 months, its a 6 month trip in total, i am fully prepared for this trip and i am constantly researching and learning of what to expect.
But however i would appreciate being able to speak to somebody that lives around these areas and hope that they could help me out with what i cant find out online, so if you do live around there please answer and i will pass on my email address so we can talk.
Also if anybody just has some interesting infomation about these areas, mainly wild plants, local animals, fishing rules etc, i do know a lot about most edible wild plants but its mainly worldwide, i specifically would like to know what grows around Scotland.
Many thanks in advance and i look forward to hearing and speaking with some of you!
I’d like to add, what has happened with yahoo aswers? a year ago, id put a question up and within minutes there were answers galore!
Where have all you clever people gone??
Thankyou very much whoop whoop, can i ask… you live in that area of scotland?
Ah yes i have the glen affric website saved in my favourites and a few others along the same lines. yes not looking forward to the midges, but hey, its the nature and thats what im going for.

I would like to add a question too, ive been told by somone that the scottish people in the highlands and middle of nowhere can be a bit moody with people doing what i am doing, obviously a lot of them will carry guns for the deer ect and other hunting, am i likely to annoy these good people?
(i mean no offence atall to our scottish neighbours :-) )
